The Verifiable Evidence Standard
VES provides a structured way to preserve and review the evidence, authority, conditions, system contribution, human judgement and commitment behind consequential decisions.
The role VES plays
VES is a published, implementation-neutral standard for decision evidence. It provides a common model for a Decision Envelope and Evidence Objects so a specific decision-state can remain portable and independently reviewable.
A careful boundary
VES does not certify that a decision was correct, lawful, fair or compliant. It does not replace runtime records, governance evidence, audit logs or systems of record. Those sources may form part of a VES package when their relationship and limitations are declared.
